EE Janine - Who were excited then but disappointed now??

Very disappointed here. And I think it’s due to the combination of the writing and her acting even though I know she could do better esp after watching her drama series based in Australia.

    Me. The custody storyline is yawn worthy and she’s basically repeating what she did with Archie in 2009 by trying to get her claws into the Vic. I really like legacy of Janine’s character but she should’ve been left in the past in my opinion, she’s just too predictable these days.

    The stories haven't been the best but I still enjoy her general presence and at least the character hasn't been ruined beyond recognition (yet) unlike some other long-termers. I don't think it would take too much to get her back on track which isn't something you can say about the likes of Phil, Sharon, Ian etc.

    I like her being back but the storyline is rubbish unless there is more to her daughter than we think.

    Meh then and meh now tbh. I think at least part of the problem is that her last exit was so satisfying and had such a finality about it, that any comeback was always going to feel regressive without some kind of proper plan for her character, which IMO they don't have.

    I didn’t think this storyline has been successful but I have enjoyed seeing her interact with certain characters again. Hopefully picks up, i can see her finally getting the Vic when Danny Dyer leaves unsure how I feel about that

    Why do people want her to be running around killing people or blowing things up. Let her settle in, then she can have her big stories.

    Janine is like most characters on EastEnders these days I just don't care anymore.

    There's become too much emphasis on her simply getting Scarlett back, her return storyline started off well enough last year but has since descended into being a boring one unfortunately!

    I don't feel the character is worth the hype and sadly the actress isn't great. I never saw her original stint so can't compare, though.

    I wasn't excited. When you have a character like Janine who was pretty much living on the edge and causing max damage, then if she comes back as a long term character it is hard to sustain that - until she wants to leave again.

    Some characters had their glory days and should be left in the past so you can remember how good they were and the memory isn't marred.
