Mark Padmore & Simon Lepper to Headline Recital at La Monnaie / De Munt

La Monnaie / De Munt is set to present a recital featuring tenor Mark Padmore and pianist Simon Lepper this February.

The showcase, which is set for Feb. 7, 2022, will feature a wide range of music by such composers as Gabriel Fauré, Benjamin Britten, Samuel Barber, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Gerald Finzi, Charles Ives, Reynaldo Hahn, Rebecca Clarke, Michael Tippett, Ivor Gurney, and Gustav Holst.

Padmore is a renowned recitalist who has appeared at La Monnaie in such operas as “Don Giovanni,” “The Rake’s Progress,” “La Clemenza di Tito,” and Britten’s “War Requiem.”

He is also the artistic director of the St. Endellion Summer Music Festival in Cornwall.

La Monnaie recently canceled a production of “Carmen” and will follow this recital with a production of Puccini’s “Il Trittico.”
