The American Classical Orchestra has announced the postponement of concerts on Feb. 3 and 26, 2022.

The Feb. 3 performance, entitled “Revisit: The Chaconne Project, was set to take place at Harlem Parish with mezzo-soprano Guadalupe Peraza as the headliner. The showcase featured a chamber ensemble playing a wide range of Chaconne’s by such composers as Haym, Bach, de Murcia, Corelli, Couperin, Monteverdi, Purcell, Arañés, Strozzi, and Marais, among others.

Peraza has appeared with such organizations as Fairfield County Chorale, the Teatro de la Ciudad Esperanza, the Metropolitan Museum. Of Querétaro, and the New York City Opera, among others.

Also postponed was the Feb. 26 concert at Alice Tully Hall entitled “Remember.” That performance featured the American Classical Orchestra performing Mozart’s Requiem as well as the premiere of Thomas Crawford’s “Elegy for Strings.”

The company will announce new dates for the performances once confirmed. Postponements were made necessary due to ongoing concerns over the spread of COVID-19.
