Anthony Davis finally made his much-awaited return on Tuesday as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Brooklyn Nets, 106-96. Davis returned to action for the first time since suffering a knee injury on December 17th and he definitely made an impact for a struggling LA side.

LeBron James has reacted to AD’s triumphant return and The King needed no more than nine words to express how important Davis is to the Lakers:

“Just his presence is an impact for our ballclub,” LeBron said, via Michael Corvo of ClutchPoints.

Davis didn’t stuff the stat sheet on Tuesday, finishing with just eight points, two rebounds, and two assists in 25 minutes of action. However, he made his presence felt on the defensive end, logging four blocks and a steal. AD’s timing was spot on early in the game and it is clear that his extended spell on the sidelines has worked in his favor.

For his part, LeBron was a dominant force against the Nets, scoring a game-high 33 points with seven rebounds, six assists, and zero turnovers.

The Lakers are scheduled for a back-to-back set on Thursday and Friday against the Philadelphia 76ers and the Charlotte Hornets, respectively, and it will be interesting to see if the Lakers opt to give Davis the night off in one of those games.
