KEARNY COUNTY – One man was injured when a snowplow clearing a rural road in Kearny County went off the edge of a road and overturned Tuesday afternoon.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2010 Kenworth Bobtail Tractor driven by Zaine Prestin Gillock, 25, of Lakin, was southbound on Road AA removing snow. Due to low visibility and road conditions, the driver went off of the edge of the road, and the plow rolled on its top.

Gillock was not hurt, but a passenger in the vehicle, Leonard Dale Bolmer, 66, of Lakin, was transported to Kearny County Hospital for possible injuries. Both men were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.

The crash occurred just after 4 p.m. an eighth of a mile north of County Road 240 or about 14 miles south of Deerfield.
