Michigan State has extended an offer Tuesday to Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco four-star safety Peyton Woodyard.

Tuesday marked a big day for Woodyard, who was also re-offered by Alabama and Oklahoma.

Woodyard is the No. 25 overall recruit in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Two of his Bellflower St. John Bosco teammates — four-star linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa and four-star cornerback Marcelles Williams — are also ranked in the top 51 of the On3 Consensus.

On3 does not rank high school sophomores during their fall seasons but does hand out grades. Peyton Woodyard was named to initial On3 Watchlist for the class and given a four-star rating and grade of 90.

Ten other safeties were given a 90 grade.

Michigan State has no commits in the 2024 class but does have two verbals in the 2023 cycle. They are Dexter (Mich.) four-star tight end Brennan Parachek and New Caney (Texas) four-star running back Kedrick Reescano.

The 2022 Spartans recruiting class ranks 25th in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking, good for fourth in the Big Ten behind only Ohio State, Penn State and Michigan.
