The Buffalo Sabres and Senators are back at it again in Ottawa, just a week after a 3-1 win for the blue and gold also inside Canadian Tire Centre. Making their returns to the lineup for Buffalo are Casey Mittelstadt and Zemgus Girgensons.

After a quiet opening 16 minutes or so, the Senators struck thrice before the horn sounded on the first period. Former Sabres forward Tyler Ennis potted two goals on Aaron Dell, while sandwiched between Ennis' pair was a powerplay goal from forward Drake Batherson.

Ottawa extended their lead to 4-0 in the middle stanza thanks to a nifty passing play from young centerman Tim Stutzle. He and fellow forward Alex Formenton teamed up on a 2-on-1, with Formenton the beneficiary of a slick pass from Stutzle after some pitch-and-catch.
