Anders Carlson, Nick Brahms Academic All-America

AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn kicker Anders Carlson and center Nick Brahms earned CoSIDA first team Academic All-America honors for the 2021 season, it was announced Wednesday.

It's only the second time that Auburn has had two first-team honorees in the prestigious program, which recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field or court and in the classroom. Linebacker Gregg Carr and kicker/punter Matt Hawkins were both first-team honorees in 1984.

Carlson, a 2020 first team Academic All-American, is just the second two-time honoree in Auburn history, along with Matt Hawkins (1984-85). Carlson, Auburn's placekicker for the past four seasons, graduated in December, 2020, with a 3.92 GPA in professional flight management and is one semester away from completing his MBA at Auburn. Carlson, a second-team All-American and a Lou Groza Award semifinalist in 2020, ranks third in Auburn career scoring with 352 points, fourth in career PAT (151) and second in career field goals (67).
