BRONX MUGGING: Man who robbed victim at gunpoint, shot him sought by police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD released surveillance footage of a suspect who robbed a man at gunpoint as he walked into his Bronx building and shot him early on New Year's Eve.

Police said the incident happened at around 4 a.m. as a 36-year-old man was walking into his residential building on East 146th Street and Brook Avenue and was approached by the suspect, who demanded money while pointing a firearm at him.

The individual then removed $7,500 from the victim's pocket and fled on foot.

Cops said the victim then followed the suspect and was subsequently shot in the abdomen.

The victim was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln in stable condition.

The suspect is described as having a medium build and was last seen wearing a red and black hoodie jacket, blue hoodie sweater, black pants and black sneakers.
