A company that designs, manufacturers and builds cleanroom facilities is opening a manufacturing facility in Lancaster County.

AES Clean Technology will invest $14.2 million to open the new manufacturing facility at 1 Clair Blvd. in Manheim, and create 97 new, full-time jobs, Gov. Tom Wolf announced this week. The company is also retaining 95 jobs at its headquarters in Montgomery County.

AES has purchased the building and the company plans to renovate it.

“I am pleased that AES recognizes Pennsylvania is the best place to support its need for increased production capabilities as demand continues to grow for high performance cleanroom facilities, including those that are responsible for the manufacturing of COVID-19 vaccines and therapeutics,” Wolf said in a news release.

The company received a funding proposal from the Department of Community and Economic Development for a $582,000 in grant money.

AES creates cleanroom facilities for pharmaceutical and biotechnology customers. AES’s cleanroom facilities have also supported the manufacturing of COVID vaccines and antibody therapeutics.
