WORCESTER – Police responded to Lafayette Street for reported carjacking at 12:45 AM on Monday, January 24.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers learned that two men allegedly entered an individual’s vehicle and informed them the vehicle was being taken. The driver fled on foot.
An officer later spotted the vehicle on Madison Street headed toward Main Street and engaged in a traffic stop. Two men in the vehicle were identified as those who allegedly stole the vehicle and were arrested.
Alprazolam pills, used to treat anxiety and panic disorder, were discovered in the vehicle.
Timothy Kasputis, 39, of Worcester, faces the following charges:
- Carjacking
- Larceny from a Person
- Driving with a Suspended License
- Possession of Class E substance.
Kasputis also possessed a cell phone that was not his when arrested.
Cedric Turner, 43, of Worcester, faces charges of:
- Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle
- Possession of class E substance
Turner also had an active warrant for his arrest.
