The fun begins at 11 a.m. and runs to 1 p.m. Jan. 29. The festival includes family friendly activities both outside on the 400 Block and inside the Great Hall at the Grand Theater on Fourth Street.

Activities on the 400 Block include ice skating, ice sculptures, dog sled demonstrations, a gaming tent and a kids’ ice castle building. There also will be kids’ games and crafts, live entertainment, cookies, hot cocoa and pizza inside the Great Hall.

“Our mission is to create community through events, and Winter Fest allows us to continue that mission through the winter,” said Alissandra Aderholdt, executive director for Wausau Events.

The entire event is free. Organizers suggest taking your own ice skates. For more information on Winter Fest visit wausauevents.org.
