A spokesperson for Amazon has confirmed that the company plans to open one of its innovative grocery stores in the Sacramento area.
According to ABC10, while an Amazon Fresh store is coming to the area, the details, like exactly where it will be located, were limited.
Amazon Fresh stores carry the same items one would find at a typical grocery store except they are sold at Amazon prices and also feature prepared foods that are made fresh daily.
The main difference from the traditional grocery store is a lack of a checkout line.
Thanks to Amazon Dash Cart, customers can order ahead in the Amazon app or sign in with a QR code to shop and leave through the Dash Cart lane when finished.
According to Amazon, computer algorithms and sensor fusion can identify what's being put inside the cart.
Amazon Fresh has already been established in many areas in Southern California like Los Angeles, Long Beach, Irvine, as well as other cities across the nation.
The online retail giant also recently revealed their plans to open a clothing store with "magic closet" fitting rooms in a Southern California mall.
