In Snowpiercer Season 3 Episode 1, The Tortoise and the Hare, the episode makes a time jump six months after the events of Season 2 and Wilford continues to struggle with taking over the loyalty of the people of the train as he couldn’t assert his complete authority on them and resistance is budding once more from the lower-class passengers. Ruth, who remains on the train, guides the people in secret and Pike takes the direction to the Tailies.

On the pirate train of Layton, Josie, Alex, Bess, and Ben, they are still on the research of Melanie regarding the spots of the Earth that are starting to warm up. However, when they went to North Korea, Ben went out to look for answers when he suddenly fell into an underground reactor. Layton and Josie went out to look for him while Bess and Alex find ways how to heat the train to start again.

On Snowpiercer, Wilford is suspecting that there are issues with the water resources they have. He sent Kevin to investigate and Oz tells him that the water master of the second-class gives out hot baths for those who are connected to the brewing resistance. Pike and Ruth immediately look for places to hide and a Tailie and the water master was taken by Wilford.

Miss Audrey gets out of lockup with the help of Martin and they went to the engine room. She contacts Alex and tries to convince her to leave Ben, Layton, and Josie behind. Bess, who is looking out on Alex, stopped the latter as she may leave the three behind. When Layton and Josie found Ben, he was struggling with low support on his suit and they took him out of the reactor. The pirate train arrives to pick them up just in time.

After the successful rescue of Ben, Layton continues to do an inspection on the reactor as he felt that the place is still operating. Even when the suit he had only has low energy left, he still insisted to look for answers then he was attacked by a person in a red suit. The unknown person is a woman and someone who knows science to be able to have the reactor function. Could it be Melanie?

Snowpiercer Season 3 Episode 2 is titled “The Last To Go” and the synopsis of the episode is as follows: “Layton goes on the hunt, as Wilford works to boost morale; the resistance discovers a threat that could undermine everything they’ve worked for.” This hints that Layton continues to hunt who the person in the red suit is and that the people on Snowpiercer are still in chaos with Wilford discovering the resistance.

Picking up where Season 2 ended, Melanie went out of the Snowpiercer for her research at an isolated facility to look for answers on the places where the Earth is starting to heat up. She looks at the possibility of a life beyond the train and people were given hope when they found out about it. After Wilford left her to fend for herself, when Layton and the crew went to retrieve her, all that is left is her research.

Netflix has yet to confirm or release the official release date of Snowpiercer on their streaming platform. For those living outside of the US, the episodes are released weekly on Netflix.
