New Balance drops its glow-in-the-dark New Balance 1500 trainers, featuring a reflective heel and color-morphing sole that illuminates in dim to dark lighting.
The sneakers are a playful addition to the massive colorway offering of the New Balance 1500 series, originally released in 1989. The “Made in England” silhouette, often referred to as a functional “dad shoe,” features a suede and textured mesh upper joined together with white leather paneling. A purple “N” logo rests on the side panels, and the New Balance moniker is stitched atop the tongue. The all-black counter lining contrasts against a clean, white collar, finished with black eyelets and laces.
The chunky midsole sees reflective trim near the heal and a sole entirely comprised of glow-in-the-dark rubber. The Encap midsole cushion and flexible inner follow in step with New Balance’s comfort-focused silhouettes.
The glowing kicks are available to shop at Aphrodite Clothing and Urban Industry, starting at £179 GPB (approximately $243 USD).
