EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders' Zack Hudson will make an unexpected discovery next week as he helps to search for missing Tina Carter.

Viewers are aware that Tina (Luisa Bradshaw-White) was actually murdered by serial killer Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) at the end of 2020, after she discovered that he had been abusing his late wife Chantelle (Jessica Plummer) and had caused her death, but so far nobody else knows what has happened to Tina.

After Gray cruelly lied to Tina's sister Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) last summer that he had seen Tina on a bus, Shirley renewed her search for the missing Tina, believing that her sister is still out there somewhere.

Shirley hasn't given up hope and, in scenes to air next week, she muses that Tina might show up at Callum Highway's (Tony Clay) party at The Albert. Zack (James Farrar) decides to offer to help Shirley look for her.

Of course, the pair have no luck and they return home worse for wear after a night out searching for Tina.

However, it later transpires that Zack did see something of interest, as he tells Martin Fowler (James Bye) that he spotted Jada Lennox (Kelsey Calladine-Smith) – the mother of Sharon Watts's baby granddaughter Alyssa – while out.

Jada disappeared with baby Alyssa, who was fathered by Sharon's late teenage son Denny, in November after Zack accidentally made an incriminating comment to Jada that gave away the fact that Sharon (Letitia Dean) was planning to apply for full custody of Alyssa, rather than agree to the planned shared arrangement with Jada.

Aware that he was at fault in Jada's disappearance, Zack vows to bring Jada back to Albert Square – but does he really have a plan to make this happen?

Meanwhile, at the Queen Vic, Shirley is exhausted after her long search and tells Nancy Carter (Maddy Hill) that she can't keep looking for Tina all the time. Is she ready to give up her search, and will the truth about Gray's crime ever come out?

EastEnders airs these scenes on Friday, February 4 on BBC One.
