Che Diaz hasn't been the most popular character since joining Sex and the City reboot And Just Like That.
After the character performed a stand-up comedy set for Netflix in the third episode of the series, viewers took to social media to claim the set wasn't funny and didn't contain any actual jokes.
But Kristin Davis explained she believes the routine was supposed to be more thought-provoking.
"Oh Andy, don't put me on the spot," she said when Andy Cohen asked if Che was funny on Watch What Happens Live.
"You're going to get me in trouble with Michael Patrick [King]," she added.
"You know, I think it's meant to be more like 'hmmm' type comedy, you know, 'oooh, oh'," she said miming deep thought.
Che features in the show as a non-binary comedian who hosts a podcast with Carrie Bradshaw.
They are played by former Grey's Anatomy star Sara Ramirez, who is also non-binary.
Previously speaking about the role, Sara said: "I am floating on air. And I'm so grateful for the experience I had with everybody."
"It felt like a really organic, natural fit.
"Che is someone who came out as non-binary later in life and who speaks their truth unapologetically.
"I thought, 'This character will teach me a lot about how to embrace the power that you have even against systems that would have you shut down.'"
Sara also opened up about their non-binary identity, saying they knew it from a young age but didn't have the words to describe it.
"I felt quite limited in the way that I could exist given that I was assigned female at birth," they shared.
"I grew up under these conditions where I had to wear my hair a certain way or dress a certain way, things that felt really rigid and not right for my body."
