Silver Alert issued for Mescalero man

MESCALERO– A Silver Alert was issued by the Bureau of Indian Affairs on Jan. 24 for Robert Dayaye, 71, of Mescalero.

Dayaye is described as a 71-year-old Native American male, 6 feet tall, weighing 167 pounds, with brown eyes and long gray hair.

Dayaye was last seen on Jan. 14, at around 9:30 a.m., on the 300 block of Soldier Canyon in Mescalero.

Dayaye was thought to have gone hiking. Dayaye was last seen wearing black pants, a jacket, and brown and black shoes. His whereabouts and destination are not known.

Dayaye is missing and believed to be in danger if not located.

No new information was available at noon on Jan. 25.

Anyone with any information regarding this Silver Alert is asked to call the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Mescalero at 575-464-4479 or dial 911.
