Jevon Cottoy works out with New York Jets
According to a report from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the New York Jets have worked out wide receiver/tight end Jevon Cottoy, who is currently a member of the Canadian Football League’s BC Lions.
The #Jets worked out Canadian WR/TE Jevon Cottoy today, source said. Cottoy (6-5, 230) had 39 catches for 519 yards and 3 TDs last season for the CFL's BC Lions. More workouts scheduled.

Cottoy, 25, is coming off a 2021 season in which he caught 39 of 50 targets for 519 yards and three touchdowns in 14 games for the Vancouver-based Lions. All of that production came over his final 11 games, as he was not targeted over his first three appearances of the season.
Labeled in Pelissero’s report as a hybrid wide receiver/tight end, Cottoy boasts a 6-foot-5, 230-pound frame but is still a playmaker with the ball in his hands. Cottoy ranked seventh in the CFL with 255 yards after the catch in 2021.
Cottoy placed third on the BC Lions in receiving yards, one spot behind Lucky Whitehead, who spent time with the Jets in 2017 but did not appear in any games. Whitehead is best known for his time with the Dallas Cowboys from 2015-16.
According to the Lions’ website, Cottoy earned a nomination for the team’s “Most Outstanding Rookie” award in 2019 for his 38 catches and 386 yards in 16 games at 23 years old.
Cottoy would opt out of the 2020 CFL season due to COVID-19. He worked out with the San Francisco 49ers in 2021 but ultimately decided to rejoin the BC Lions.
Prior to the CFL, Cottoy played for the Langley Rams of the Canadian Junior Football League, shining brightly enough to make his way to the CFL. In 2018, Cottoy caught 39 passes for 657 yards and eight touchdowns in eight regular season games for the Rams. He followed it up with 25 receptions for 645 yards and eight touchdowns in four postseason games.
