Teen Mom Jenelle Evans’ fans shocked at how ‘grown’ her son Jace, 12, looks in new photos

TEEN Mom Jenelle Evans' fans can't get over how "grown" her son Jace looks in new photos.

Fans were first introduced to the reality star and her now pre-teen son over a decade ago when Jenelle starred on MTV's 16 and Pregnant.

Fast forward twelve years later and viewers are shocked at the tween's mature appearance in her social media pics.

Jenelle shared a snap of her firstborn child on her Instagram Stories capturing Jace smiling at the camera while sitting in the backseat of the car.

The 12-year-old donned a blonde cropped haircut and bangs while wearing a light gray puffy jacket.

The shot circulated onto Reddit where the original poster started the conversation about his older look writing: "Since when is Jace this GROWN?! 😭❤️ I feel ancient."

Others echoed the comment writing: "Jace is handsome… can’t believe he’s big already ❤️"

Another person agreed, commenting: "How is he so big already??? What!!"

The reality star shared another close-up shot of her eldest child snapped by the middle schooler himself.

In the pic, Jace pushed his long hair back away from his face giving a full view of his eyes and a soft smile.

The shot accompanied a series of other photos from the family outing in honor of Jenelle's daughter Ensley's fifth birthday.

Fans again couldn't deny Jace's mature style with one writing: "Happy birthday! Omg Jace looks so much older! Love the hair"

STRAINED RELATIONSHIP

While Jenelle often shares photos of her three kiddos on social media, her mom Barbara still has primary physical and legal custody of Jace.

Jenelle shares her daughter Ensley with her husband David Eason, and her other son Kaiser, seven, with her ex Nathan Griffith.

Jace's dad is Andrew Lewis, who has been out of the picture for most of his son's life.

She previously opened up about her strained relationship with her mother saying: "We only talk when it's to pick up Jace and drop him off, I pick up and I get him like every other weekend.

"I'm more standoffish to my mom, because of what's going on, and I want to keep the conversation about Jace, and she tries to have it about other things.

"And when I try to bring up Jace, she just totally ignores me about the topic. So we're butting heads right now, and it's not really going anywhere.

"That's why we were gonna go to court, to figure it out," she concluded.

Jenelle signed custody of her son to her mother in June 2010 and has visitation with him every other weekend.

BEHAVIORAL ISSUES

Back in April, The Sun exclusively obtained North Carolina court papers Jenelle, 29, filed for sole custody of her troubled son and asked the court to grant emergency custody to her on January 28, 2021.  

According to the custody filing, Jenelle claimed there has been a “substantial change in circumstances affecting the welfare of the minor child” that warrants a change in the custody agreement. 

The former Teen Mom 2 star claimed Jace is “at risk of bodily injury” in the care of his grandmother, which is why she is filing for emergency custody. 

Jenelle alleged Jace has had “increasingly worse behavior problems that cause him to be physically aggressive, out of control and unsafe.”

In one instance, Jace had set fire to Barbara's house after an altercation with his grandmother.

Jace’s behavioral problems have been discussed on Teen Mom 2. 

On a 2016 reunion episode, Barbara revealed Jace was diagnosed with ADHD and is on medication to control the disorder.
