One of the night caps on the NHL schedule on Tuesday night sees the league’s newest team look to hold off a team that has surprised many, as the Seattle Kraken play host to the Nashville Predators.
The Predators have caught the eyes of many around the league thanks to their impressive start to the season. Thanks to the play of netminder Juuse Saros and captain Roman Josi, Nashville is hanging around towards the top of the Central Division. However, they were knocked off their pedestal last week, as a four-game losing skid knocked them out of first place, sending them down to third in the division. They now sit four points back of the Colorado Avalanche, who also have four games in hand on the Preds.

At the bottom of the Pacific Division you will find the Seattle Kraken. Despite a lot of excitement surround the expansion franchise coming into the season, the team’s performance on the ice has certainly been lackluster at best. They come into Tuesday night with a 12-24-4 record (third-worst record in the NHL) and 10 points back of the seventh placed Edmonton Oilers. Despite winning back-to-back games last week, any further win streak was derailed by a loss to the St. Louis Blues last Friday.
This is the second of three meetings this season between the two teams. In their first meeting down in Smashville, the Kraken took home the franchise’s first-ever victory back on October 14, 2021.
