Unlocked Galaxy Note 10+ In The US Is Finally Getting Android 12

Samsung’s Android 12 rollout is progressing reasonably well as several older devices received the update over the past few weeks. Today, it’s the turn of the Galaxy Note 10+ models in the U.S., with customers in the region finally getting Google’s latest software with One UI 4 on top.

The update is rolling out to the unlocked version of the Galaxy Note 10+ (SM-N975U1) in the region. SamMobile notes that the update could soon make its way to carrier variants of the smartphone, including the ones from AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile.

Samsung’s rollout of Android 12 for the Galaxy Note 10+ is bitter-sweet for customers. Based on the company’s update schedule, this would be the last major software update for the device. However, customers should continue to receive monthly security updates until at least 2023. It’s unclear if the device would get updated to One UI 4.1 in the future. But we can’t rule it out since it would still be based on Android 12.

As for the changes with the new software, Galaxy Note 10+ customers in the U.S. can expect upgraded themes, which are now in line with Google’s Material You philosophy. Additionally, a few Samsung-specific features are getting a revamp with this software update. As you would expect, privacy and security enhancements are also on board.

Notably, the global variants of the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ received the update late last month. So it’s been a relatively long wait for U.S. customers of the unlocked Galaxy Note 10+. But better late than never, as the saying goes.

Samsung is currently rolling out the Android 12 update at a rapid pace. However, things weren’t this straightforward in early December. Despite going through an elaborate beta process for the One UI 4 update, the stable release was plagued by numerous bugs. Samsung eventually halted the update rollout and resumed it a few days later.
