Meghan Markle and Prince Harry signed two lucrative multi-year deals two years ago.
At the time, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they had partnered with Spotify and Netflix to produce regular content that is aimed at inspiring people.

“Our lives, both independent of each other, and as a couple has allowed us to understand the power of the human spirit: of courage, resilience, and the need for connection. Through our work with diverse communities and their environments, to shining a light on people and causes around the world, our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope,” they said in a statement.
Months later, the couple released another statement confirming their partnership with Spotify.
“What we love about podcasting is that it reminds all of us to take a moment and to really listen, to connect to one another without distraction. With the challenges of 2020, there has never been a more important time to do so, because when we hear each other, and hear each other’s stories, we are reminded of how interconnected we all are,” they said.
When Will Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Release Projects For Spotify, Netflix?
However, two years have passed but Prince Harry and Markle have not released the content that they promised their fans. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex previously unveiled a podcast on Spotify, but this hasn’t been updated in over a year.
According to Express, Prince Harry and Markle are now facing criticisms for overpromising on things that they could not deliver. And their critics are not also thrilled because everyone knows that the couple received a generous paycheck from Spotify and Netflix but it seems they don’t have anything lined up just yet.
To make things worse, Netflix recently released its lowest number of new global subscribers in the first quarter since 2010. And the streaming platform also lost UK rights to five popular titles to Disney+ this month.
So, Markle and Prince Harry’s critics couldn’t help but pressure them into producing something to help Netflix.
“More than 14 months ago, their money-making marriage with the streaming was first revealed. They loftily promised they would be making 'content that informs but also gives hope.' Good on them, but where is it?” royal commentator Daniela Esler said.

Earlier this month, royal expert Russell Myers also weighed in on Prince Harry and Markle’s lack of update when it comes to their projects with Spotify and Netflix.
“Anything can happen with those two, to be honest. They pop up every now and then and the world laps it up. They have had a bit of a stop-start couple of years since they decided to leave the Royal Family. But hopefully, Spotify and Netflix will be getting their money's worth. They haven't seen too much bang for their buck at the moment. Let's wait and see what happens,” he told Daily Mail.

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Have Two Upcoming Projects With Netflix
As of press writing, Prince Harry and Markle already announced two projects for Netflix. The first one is the children’s animation, Pearl and the second one is a documentary on the Invictus Games.
However, Esler thinks that the two projects would fail to make an impact on viewers.
“These might both prove to be touching and powerful shows but on paper, they don't exactly sound like they will be setting viewers or Hollywood on fire,” she said.
