Application security startup ArmorCode raises $8M to extend its platform capabilities

Application security operations startup ArmorCode Inc. today announced it has raised an additional $8 million in funding to extend its platform capabilities and expand the company’s go-to-market efforts.

Cervin Ventures led the additional seed funding with Sierra Ventures, Tau Ventures and several individuals, including founders of Demisto and RedLock Inc. participating. Including the new funding, ArmorCode has raised $11 million to date, including an initial seed raise of $3 million in May.

Founded in 2020, ArmorCode has a mission to democratize application security by transforming AppSec into a scalable and cost-effective process, making applications secure by delivery. The company’s platform is designed to consolidate application security tooling, streamline application security processes, increase business agility and improve developer productivity to help companies take charge of increasingly complicated application security environments.

Pitched as offering a next-generation application security platform, ArmorCode provides a single intelligent service that minimizes tooling and alerts while maximizing agility, efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

The ArmorCode platform includes application security posture management which simplifies AppSec operations by providing a centralized view of all security findings across application and infrastructure security. Its platform offers streamlined continuous integration and delivery or continuous integration/continuous deployment pipeline. It also offers DevSecOps Orchestration for tighter collaboration between developers and AppSec engineers.

The service offers Continuous Compliance with industry-standard compliance regimes, including SOC2, GDPR, FedRAMP and OWASP Top 10, among others.

Since launching out of stealth in May, ArmorCode has seen a growing client base. Notable customers include ChargePoint Holdings Inc., Nirmata Inc., Fab Hotels, Shutterfly LLC and Guardant Health Inc.

“Enterprise applications have created a new set of security challenges, leaving the door wide open for cyber risks and attacks,” Nikhil Gupta, co-founder and chief executive officer of ArmorCode, said in a statement. “The ArmorCode AppSecOps platform, with its 80-plus out-of-the-box integrations, simplifies the process of shipping applications securely with a single platform, consolidating insights from multiple AppSec tools and scaling the DevSecOps processes needed to keep up with and manage risk.”
