Rochester, NY (WHAM) - The cold air that's been in place won't let go over the next week. In fact, it looks like our next reinforcing shot of cold air will make its way into the area as soon as Tuesday night.
For today, we'll continue to see some lake effect snow showers across the area. Clouds will linger for much of the day as well. Highs will only be in the low to mid 20s this afternoon, which isn't much higher than where temperatures started out this morning.
Into Tuesday, some lake effect snow showers will hold on. That will especially be the case for areas close to the Lake Ontario shoreline, and especially east into Wayne County. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Wayne County through early Wednesday. A few inches of fluffy snow could fall in the most concentrated bands, with only scattered snow showers elsewhere. Lows will drop into the single digits overnight.
Wednesday, the cold air will hold on. Highs will barely be in the teens. And the risk of lake effect snow showers will persist.
Temperatures straight through the weekend, and even into early next week, will remain below average for the Rochester area.
