(97.1 FM TALK) - Legendary rocker Neil Young wants to distance himself from podcaster Joe Rogan, and has requested that Rogan's podcast host, Spotify, remove his music from their playlists.
In a since deleted letter online, Young demanded his management team and record label remove the music over, "false information about vaccines," and Covid that Rogan features on his podcast.
"I don't know how popular Neil Young is these days on Spotify," says Marc Cox on the Marc Cox Morning Show.
"I do, he is number 775," says producer Carl Middleman.
"Thank you," chuckles Cox. "Spotify's signed a $100-million deal with Rogan, there's no way they're going to pay any attention to this."
This isn't the first time that Young wanted his music off Spotify. He previously said the sound quality wasn't good enough on the streaming service to broadcast his songs. But he later relented the request.
"That’s where people get music. I want people to hear my music no matter what they have to get through to do it," Young told Rolling Stone in 2019.
