Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street will air big scenes for Nina Lucas and Asha Alahan next week, as Nina's anxiety causes her to become increasingly protective of Asha.

Student Asha (Tanisha Gorey) is looking at universities and she confides in her brother Aadi (Adam Hussain) and Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) that she is keen on Glasgow University and would like to apply to study there.

However, she's concerned that Glasgow is too far from home and she doesn't want to leave Nina (Mollie Gallagher) behind while Nina is still so vulnerable following the hate crime and Seb Franklin's death last year – particularly after Nina recently confessed to her that she is living in fear of something bad happening to Asha and has been having anxiety attacks.

When Asha admits to her dad Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) that she is having second thoughts about going to Glasgow University, Dev suspects that it is because she doesn't want to leave Nina.

Later on, Dev heads out to Daniel Osbourne's (Rob Mallard) flat to take a look at the leaking sink but, before he goes, he hands Asha a guide book for Glasgow.

When Asha meets up with Nina, Nina spots the Glasgow prospectus in Asha's bag. Wanting to support Asha, Nina puts on a brave face and encourages her to go and enjoy a day out in Glasgow.

However, after Nina realises that there are floods expected in Glasgow, she begins to panic and shares her fears with Roy Cropper (David Neilson) about the safety of Asha's train journey up to the city.

Asha is alarmed by Nina's behaviour - will she be able to calm her down?
