Former LSU Football quarterback Joe Burrow isn’t concerned about the raucous crowd at Arrowhead Stadium this weekend when the Cincinnati Bengals take on the Kansas City City Chiefs.

That’s because Burrow has played in front of a lot of loud college football crowds — crowds that Burrow believes are louder than any NFL stadium.

Back in October, Burrow made it clear that NFL crowds don’t phase him.

“Playing in the SEC definitely, definitely helped,” said Burrow of playing in front of a loud Ravens crowd in October (via AL.com). “Gets way louder in the SEC than in any of these NFL stadiums.”

Former Chiefs kicker responds to Joe Burrow

Former Chiefs kicker Lawrence Tynes brought new attention on Monday to Burrow’s quote from October.

Tynes tweeted that Burrow is in for a rude awakening when he visits Kansas City on Sunday.

There’s no doubt that Arrowhead gets loud. And I’m sure it’s comparable to some SEC stadiums.

But it’s nothing Burrow hasn’t seen before.

Remember, Burrow played home games in front of a loud LSU crowd for two years in Baton Rouge (one of the loudest college football stadiums in the nation — there’s nothing like a night game at Tiger Stadium).

And he played on the road in several hostile environments. Burrow has played in front of crowds at Auburn, Alabama, Texas A&M (very loud), Mississippi State (those cowbells can get annoying), and Ole Miss.

Tynes, on the other hand, played college football at Troy. The biggest road game that Troy played during Tynes’ time with the program was in Boone, NC against Appalachian State.

I guess we can forgive him for not understanding the loudness of SEC stadiums.

I have no idea if the Bengals will beat the Chiefs on Sunday. But I’m certain crowd noise won’t rattle Burrow — he’s built for this.
