EastEnders spoilers follow.

Stacey Slater's discovery about ex-husband Martin Fowler will put her in danger in an upcoming EastEnders episode.

The former couple have been drawn together once again in recent months, especially after they were both up for a job as market inspector for the Square.

While Stacey ultimately got the job, she is set to find out that Martin was actually her boss Lister's first choice for the new position. Martin is the one to confide in Sharon Watts that he'd turned down the job.

Stacey ultimately finds out the truth as well when Martin blurts out that he'd essentially ensured she'd get the job by rejecting Lister's offer.

Her daughter Lily attempts to cheer up Stacey with a pep talk all about how she's the right person to become the market inspector regardless of who Lister wanted first.

Stacey tries to keep a positive attitude, but she's also immediately put to the test when all hell breaks loose in the market.

As Stacey tries to restore order in a desperate bid to keep her job, everything goes pear-shaped and she ends up absolutely covered in rubbish.

Though Martin finds some enjoyment in seeing Stacey sweating, he is surprised once she admits to him that she is totally hating her new job thus far.

Stacey rips into Martin with a rant all about her ex-husband ruined her life – viewers will remember that Martin's own former spouse Ruby Allen sent Stacey to jail on trumped-up charges she'd been pushed down the stairs.

She is so busy ranting and raving that she doesn't even notice she's stepped into the path of an oncoming car! Will Stacey be okay?

These scenes are set to air on Monday, January 31 on BBC One. EastEnders airs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on BBC One.
