PHILADELPHIA -- Jacob Peterson's rookie season reached a new high when he scored a crucial go-ahead goal with under four minutes remaining in regulation Tuesday night in Philly.

Just 22 years of age, Peterson's been an impact player over his 32 games of NHL experience. He has seven goals and nine points over that span and delivered in the clutch to keep Dallas' winning streak alive on the road.
Here are the five takeaways of the game.

Stars win three in a row

LEAVE IT TO PETEY

Peterson finished the game with a goal, two shots and a +1 rating in 14 minutes of ice time. He also went 6-for-10 in faceoffs centering a line with Joel Kiviranta and Alexander Radulov.
His goal came off a great shift down low for the trio. Once Radulov gained possession of the puck and began working his way behind the net, Peterson had the presence of mind to move into the slot to get himself into a shooting lane. He shrugged off Flyers defenseman Travis Sanheim from behind the cage and found a soft spot above the crease. Radulov found him with a nice backhand pass and Peterson buried the shot. It came back out of the net so quickly the play continued momentarily until video review deemed it indeed crossed the stripe.

TOP LINE STRIKES

Gridlocked in a scoreless game in the late stages of the first period, Dallas' top line came through with a big goal from its leading scorer.
Roope Hintz kept his hot streak going with points in four straight games (three goals, three assists), while Jason Robertson's assist give him points in three consecutive contests (three goals, three assists).

DAMIANI MOVES UP

Rookie forward Riley Damiani started the night on the fourth line but was elevated alongside Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin for the third period, a move that paid off instantly.
The 21-year-old was a spark plug all night and came alive with the two veterans. In fact, it was his dogged effort on a shift in the third period that almost led to a goal off the stick of Miro Heiskanen, who was robbed by Flyers netminder Carter Hart.
Damiani finished the game with three shots on goal and one takeaway in 11:55 TOI.

SHAKY MIDDLE FRAME

Despite holding the edge in shots on goal (13-10) in the second period, it was a 20-minute segment that felt tilted in Philadelphia's favor.
The Flyers found the game-tying marker at the 12:06 mark off an unfortunate bounce and nearly took the lead with under a minute left in the middle frame.
After the game, Stars head coach Rick Bowness said he knows the team can play much better than it did throughout the 60 minutes in Philly.

TURNING THE SEASON AROUND

The Stars knew they had to get their act together on the road if they wanted to make a serious push at a playoff spot.
They're backing up their words with wins in the first three games of this road trip. A victory on Tuesday would give them a four-game sweep and a chance to grab the second wild card spot currently held by Calgary. (The Stars and Flames are tied in points, but Calgary has two games in hand.)
The Stars leapfrogged San Jose in the standings Monday and currently hold the ninth best win percentage in the Western Conference (.564).
