GIRLS BASKETBALL

Gabrielino 55, Rosemead 28: To win the Mission League girls basketball title, you usually have to go through Rosemead and that’s exactly what Gabrielino, ranked No. 7 in CIF Southern Section Division 4AA, did with a convincing win on Monday to improve to 14-4 and 7-0 in league.

The Eagles completed a season sweep over the Panthers and with it clinched inched closer to clinching the league title.Rachel Liu led the Eagles with 10 points and four rebounds. Rosemead, ranked No. 10 in Division 4AA, dropped to 16-9 and 7-2.

Los Altos 66, South Hills 38: The Conquerors bounced back from Saturday’s loss to Glendora with an easy win over the Huskies to improve to 17-3 and a perfect 6-0 in the Hacienda League. Kamora Fletcher led the way with 17 points and 15 rebounds while Vhenus Gaoa had a double-double as well with 16 points and 12 assists. Hailey Lakey scored 14 points and Jimena Solorio gave them four players in double figures with 10 points.

lendora 63, Ayala 34: The Tartans continued to handle their business and are 16-7 and 3-2 in the Palomares League with Colony next, though the big league games with Bonita and Claremont loom ahead. The Tartans were balanced with Hailey Schaffer and Rylie Anderson leading the way with 14 points apiece and Kennedy Hermmann added 12 points.

Temple City 61, San Marino 35: The Rams improved to 12-7 and 3-2 in the Rio Hondo League with the surprisingly easy win over the Titans, who drop to 10-7 and 2-2 in league. The Titans got a team-high 15 points from Gianna Karkafi.

BOYS BASKETBALL

South Pasadena 74, Monrovia 66: The Tigers (12-7, 3-1) survived a scare against the Wildcats during a Rio Hondo league contest. The Tigers lost to La Canada on Friday and needed a victory to stay in contention for the league title. Sage Wayans led the way with 27 points and Ezekiel Plannell had 11.

Glendora 62, Ayala 48

GIRLS SOCCER

West Covina 2, Diamond Ranch 0: Sanaa Turner scored both goals for the Bulldogs (5-10-1, 2-3-1). She headed home a free kick from Hannah Lumbreras for a 1-0 lead, then took on two defenders before belting home her second goal.

BOYS SOCCER

Bishop Amat 6, St. Genevieve 0: The Lancers romped to victory to improve to 10-4-4 and 3-1-1 in the Del Rey league. Issac Ochoa had a pair of goals and Isaiah Piceno, Matthew Ibarra, Brandy Hernandez and  Rosario De Agapito Gamez scored the others. The Lancers travel to take on Cathedral Wednesday, hoping to get them back after a 3-1 loss at home last week to the Phantoms.
