Angel Blue is set to headline a concert with the Philadelphia Orchestra.

The program, which is set to be performed on Feb. 3-5 at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and later on Feb. 8 at Carnegie Hall in NYC, will see the soprano joined by Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin. She will perform Samuel Barber’s “Knoxville: Summer of 1915,” based on a poem by James Agee.

The program will also see the world premiere of Valerie Coleman’s “This Is Not a Small Voice,” commissioned by the Orchestra. The new work is set to the words of Sonia Sanchez’s poem of the same name.

The Orchestra will also give the world premiere of Matthew Aucoin’s Suite from his 2020 opera “Eurydice” and will also perform Florence Price’s Symphony No. 1.

The Orchestra’s recent Deutsche Grammophon recording of this symphony (and her Symphony No. 3) is currently nominated for a GRAMMY award and a BBC Music Magazine Award.
