The San Francisco 49ers received a scare when wide receiver Deebo Samuel was shaken up during their victory over the Green Bay Packers. Samuel was visibly injured while making his way off the field Saturday, likely concerning San Francisco fans ahead of the NFC Championship- and division-rival clash against the Rams. 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke to reporters Monday and dropped a critical Deebo Samuel injury update ahead of the clash vs. Los Angeles, via ESPN's Adam Schefter.

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan provided some insight into how Deebo Samuel was shaken up, noting that the star wideout took a helmet to the side of his knee and leg area, causing some soreness on Monday.

However, Shanahan dropped a huge injury update with his following statement on Samuel, saying that the versatile receiver is expected to practice this week. That doesn't necessarily mean that he'll definitely be out there for the 49ers-Rams clash, but a week of practice would surely have him on track to suit up in the NFC title game.

Samuel has come up huge for the 49ers all season, as he totaled over 1400 receiving yards and six scores through the air, and another 365 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground.

In two games against the Rams this year, he has produced 273 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns. His presence would be huge for San Francisco's chances of a Super Bowl berth.

It sounds like the 49ers are trending towards having their star wide receiver out on the field against the Rams after Kyle Shanahan's Deebo Samuel injury update on Monday.
