After a successful official visit over the weekend, Florida has reeled in three-star quarterback, Max Brown, who de-committed from Central Michigan on Sunday.

The 6-foot-3 quarterback finished his final high school season with 4,093 all-purpose yards (2,750 passing, 1,343 rushing), 41 passing touchdowns and 20 rushing touchdowns.

On top of impressive yardage stats, Brown posted a 71 percent completion rate and 13-1 record for Lincoln Christian School in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

“Just the relationships, the effort, the culture, and just being around the Gators and being around the coaching staff; also, them being around my family and showing my family nothing but love; that’s huge and that really goes a long way,” Brown told GO’s Corey Bender after he committed.

Billy Napier, along with offensive analyst Ryan O’Hara, are the Gators coaches who played a pivotal role in UF’s pursuit.

“My relationship with coach Napier and coach O’Hara are great. Just getting around the other coaches was huge too. It was amazing,” Brown said. “They were nothing but good to me and my family, so it was a great experience.”

Brown, the No. 93 quarterback in the On3 Consensus Rankings, informed the Gators of his decision shortly before heading to the airport.

“They were excited,” Brown said. “Coach Napier and coach O’Hara, they were extremely excited and were all bought in.”

Outside of Central Michigan, Brown had interest in Washington and Temple. He was initially scheduled to visit the Huskies this weekend, but that trip is officially canceled.

On Jan. 17, Florida’s staff visited Brown, securing an official for Jan. 21-23. Once Brown was on campus, it was all up to the UF staff to offer him, which came shortly before he departed Gainesville on Sunday.

Brown was on campus to better look at what Florida had to offer him and his family.

“They showed me a lot of stuff, and it was a great experience,” Brown said after his official. “Just the tours, meeting the coaches, getting to know everyone, it was great.”

Getting to know the people around the UF program was a priority for Brown this weekend.

“It was great being around them the whole weekend, eating dinner with them, playing games,” Brown said. “It was nice vibing with more than just the football aspect of things, so it was great.

The highly-productive Oklahoma quarterback will join the quarterback room with Anthony Richardson, Jack Miller, Carlos Del Rio-Wilson and Jalen Kitna in 2022. Emory Jones will spend the spring semester at UF but may enter the portal once he graduates.
