The Miami Heat took on the visiting Los Angeles Lakers for the first time this season in Miami on Sunday. This was the second time this season that these two teams met and Miami was looking for revenge after the November game ended in a, 120-117, overtime victory for the Lakers.
The Heat would get revenge after stopping a comeback in the 4th quarter by the Lakers, as the Heat would get the win, 113-107. Miami gets its 30th win on the season, as the struggling Lakers move to 23-24 on the season.

Jimmy Butler stepped up big time for his Miami Heat, taking control in the 3rd quarter, by filling up the stat sheet and recording a triple-double. He would finish the game with 20 points, 12 assists, and 10 rebounds.
Jimmy Butler would also pass LeBron James‘ record of most triple-doubles with the Miami Heat.

Duncan Robinson would step up, hitting 6-11 from the 3-point range and finishing with 25 points, leading the team in scoring against Los Angeles.
These two were the main reason Miami had a dominant lead throughout the game. Bam Adebayo would also contribute 14 points and eight rebounds but would foul out of the game late in the fourth period.
Stopping the Comeback
Miami held the lead for most of the game and heading into the 4th quarter, they would have an 87-70 lead over the Lakers. The Lakers would begin to fight back, as they would put up 37 points in the 4th quarter.
However, it would come down to one big steal by Caleb Martin, that would lead to the game-ending layup, making sure that the Heat stopped the comeback and sealing the win altogether.
Now in first place in the Eastern Conference, they have a chance to build on that in their next contest. Their next will be one on Wednesday, as they take on the New York Knicks in an Eastern Conference rivalry of a showdown.
