Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was so amped about the game-winning field goal to beat the Titans he kissed kicker Evan McPherson.

The Bengals are on the way to the AFC Championship Game for the first time since 1988, just two seasons removed from having the worst record in the NFL.

Cincinnati can thank Joe Burrow, among others, for their quick turnaround but Burrow had his own great show of gratitude to kicker Evan McPherson after the Bengals knocked off the Titans.

McPherson hit four field goals and an extra point in the Divisional Round matchup, accounting for 13 of his team’s 19 points. No kick was bigger than his 52-yard game-winner as time expired.

Burrow was so excited in the aftermath, he rushed after McPherson and planted a big ol’ kiss on his forehead.

Joe Burrow and Evan McPherson are Bengals heroes

No doubt there’s many a Bengals fan who would love to do the same to McPherson and Burrow after that epic victory over the No. 1 seed in the AFC.

Cincinnati had an outstanding regular season, winning the AFC North and notching double-digit victories for the first time since 2015. However, their road through the playoffs required a hard-fought victory over the Raiders before a road game against the No. 1 seed Titans.

Beating Tennessee was a big ask on its own, but the franchise’s playoff record added to the task. The Bengals had never won a road playoff game in history. Continuing on to the next round was no sure thing.

Burrow and McPherson changed that, locking in a trip to face the Chiefs in the AFC title game. Now that they have that first away win under their belts, they’ll have to get another at Arrowhead against Patrick Mahomes and company to keep their season alive and head to the Super Bowl.
