The Novak Djokovic saga in the Australian Open was one of the biggest storylines in sports. However, the trouble didn't stop for Djokovic when he left the tournament. Some of his sponsors are considering whether they want to move forward with him as their spokesperson, considering how his reputation took a sizable hit after the events that occurred due to his feelings on the COVID-19 vaccine.

One of Djokovic's sponsors, Hublot, revealed its shocking stance in a statement from CEO Ricardo Guadalupe following the Australian Open debacle (via Yahoo Sports).

“The principle of vaccines is that it's something private. We value personal freedom.

Everyone can decide. One can be in favour or against. That's our position.”

Hublot seems it is going to stick by Djokovic, even after the wild events that preceded the Australian Open. It certainly is a shocking stance given the public backlash that came firing back at the world no. 1.

Of course, Hublot hasn't come to an official decision as to whether Djokovic will remain as its spokesperson, though the company did admit waiting for the Serbian star to speak after the Australian Open. Guadalupe said then that they would make a decision if they would continue to work with Djokovic.

While Hublot is seemingly behind the Novak Djokovic, it's clear that the Australian Open controversy isn't just going to cost him wins on the court.
