SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (KNX) – Some big news for a bald eagle couple in the Big Bear area.

Jackie and Shadow, the most famous bald eagles in the area, laid their first egg for the 2022 season on Saturday.

San Bernardino National Forest tweeted the news, adding that a second egg could be laid in the near future.

In early December, closures on the northwest side of Big Bear Lake were announced after bald eagle nesting in the area increased.

You can monitor the eagles’ activity on the live camera on the Friends of Big Bear Valley’s website.
