Review: Casper’s Hyperlite Sheets Are Soft as a Dream and 50% Off Right Now

I don’t want to brag, but I’ve had a queen bed since elementary school. It was a hand-me-down from an aunt when my family relocated from small-town New Jersey to even smaller town New Jersey. Though it was stained with years of sweat stains and what I’m hoping were wine spills, it was my first big boy bed and it excited me beyond belief.

I remember going to Bed, Bath & Beyond with my mom the week before we moved to pick up some queen-sized sheets for my new used mattress. I was in a “Blue is my favorite color” phase that every little boy had, so I stacked a bedding set in every shade they had until my mom cut me off.

Now that 15 years have passed, I’ve gotten a new mattress for myself, moved out of my parents’ place and… well… those sheets from BB&B? Still in my closet. Yeah. Sometimes it’s hard to let go.

It didn’t hit me until recently that good adults actually had good sheets. I’ve been sleeping on sandpaper for so long that I genuinely didn’t realize that’s not what the best sheets should feel like. Pilling, rips, stains — that was all totally normal to me. Recently, Casper sent me a set of their Hyperlite Sheets to test out for myself, and since then, I’ve become the biggest sheet snob known to man. I’ll settle for absolutely nothing less than 200 thread count.

What Makes Them Different

Casper’s Hyperlite Sheets aren’t your average sheets. Casper’s sheets are made with 100% Tencel Lyocell and a 200 thread count for the most temperate and cozy nights of sleep you’ll ever experience. If you’ve never tried Lyocell, it’s one of the softest fabrics in the world, and I’m excited to see it becoming more common in products like boxers and bedsheets. The set is made out to be much thinner than your average sheet with a unique grid weave that maximizes breathability. Seven times more breathable, exactly. Hot sleeper? Sounds like you found your solution.

Because the sheets are thinner in nature than your average sheet, expect a lighter overall sheet consistency. No more claustrophobia under the covers.

Not only are the sheets exceptionally breathable, but they’re crazy soft to the touch. I’m talking about one of the softest materials that I’ve ever touched. It’s a softness I don’t know that I deserve.

Am I Really Sleeping Better?

Genuinely, yes. I don’t know how I went so long without picking up a new pair of sheets, but once I went Casper, my standards have changed for good. Typically, it takes me a few minutes to fall asleep and I almost always wake up a few times throughout the night. With Casper’s Hyperlite Sheets, I’ve been falling asleep a lot quicker and sleeping through the entire night. That might sound like a load of bull, but I genuinely mean it. I feel like they’ve injected sleeping pills into these sheets. They’ve truly got me knocked out.

These sheets are so comfortable, I find it even harder than regular to get out of bed every morning. They have a clean feel to them even after many nights of sleeping in them. I’ve had them on my bed for definitely over two weeks at this point (judge me if you must) and I have yet to get that scuzzy feeling on my body I get from other sheets. They’re borderline perfect.

Are There Any Flaws?

Notice how I just used the word “borderline”. While they might be the most comfortable sheets that have ever graced my Bob-O-Pedic mattress, there are some tiny issues with these sheets.

First, because they’re so thin, you can completely see the design and logo of my mattress. Because my sheets are white, I can’t speak for Casper’s other colors, but that’s definitely something to take note of before purchasing. I’ve honestly been looking the other way because they’re so cozy that I don’t mind too much.

Another issue is, of course, the price. Casper definitely isn’t in the budget category, although their prices compare favorably to other DTC brands like Brooklinen. Although these might not be the most affordable sheets, after testing them out, I do believe that they’re worth the money. They truly produce a softness that’s unmatched.

The Verdict: You’ll Never Want to Change Your Sheets Again

I’m dreading the day I have to take these sheets off and throw them in the hamper. My fourth-grade sheets are sitting patiently in my closet waiting for laundry day, but I haven’t thought about them since the day I dressed my bed in Casper.

I said earlier that Lyocell is one of the softest fabrics in the world, and these Lyocell sheets are a dream.

So Should you buy it?

After sleeping with Casper’s Hyperlite Sheets, I think they’re an excellent purchase for hot sleepers. With your purchase, you’ll receive one flat and fitted sheet and two pillowcases, which isn’t all so bad given the price. Plus, the sheets are currently half off, so if you’re going to pull the trigger, this is an excellent time to do so.

Pros

  • So cozy you won’t want to get out of bed
  • Breathable sheets that are great for hot sleepers
  • Thinner, so easier to store
  • Comes in a whole set

Cons

  • Pricey
  • Might be too thin for some
  • Not ideal winter sheets
