Two major drug busts were made following traffic stops in Abbeville County over the weekend. The first incident happened Saturday night in Calhoun Falls. Police there seized nearly 3 pounds of meth and over two pounds of marijuana. Officers with the Calhoun Falls PD stopped a vehicle for a defective tag light shortly after 11 PM Saturday. The officers said they could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle. They searched the vehicle, found the drugs and arrested two people, Angelica Roman and her passenger Pablo Lara Jr.
In the second incident, A Sunday night stop led to the Discovery of over 10 kilos of cocaine. The Abbeville County Sheriff's Office seized the 10 plus kilos, over 24 pounds of cocaine following the traffic stop. The Sheriff's had not released the name of the suspect , as of the time of this report but did say that the suspect was arrested on trafficking charges. The Anderson County Sheriff's Office K-9 unit assisted in the drug seizure.
