Could Grant Mitchell return to EastEnders soon?

With all the rumours of Ross Kemp eying a return to acting and perhaps going back to EastEnders, what do people think of the chances of this happening?

I think it could be a really good time to bring Grant back with Phil facing life behind bars and him looking for someone to look after his business interests. Sharon or Ben could call Grant to comeback. I've also noticed in some recent scenes old photos of Grant in certain scenes in the background in the Mitchell house. Could this be for a reason I wonder?

It would be so good if Ross could be tempted to return for a long term stint (6-12 months) which would see Grant return to Walford after Courtney comes to the UK to go to university which would prompt Grant to give up Portugal for good. Of course this is way up there in dream land but one can dream and hope this could happen.

A brief return clearly doesn't work as seen in Grant's previous comebacks, it needs to be more longer term for sure.

EE doesn't have that pull anymore, should just refresh and focus on the future rather than another Mitchell brother return

Could definitely see grant being called because Phil needs help since it’s clear Ben isn’t coping.

Yeah definitely. I'd love for Grant to invest or buy back the Vic in memory of Peggy and hire someone like Sharon to be landlady. This kind of idea could prompt a more permanent stay for Grant rather than another one of his flying visits. He could persuade Phil to turn grass and get Phil out of prison and I'd love to see their relationship back gradually to how it was in the early days. Phil and Grant were so close back then always there for each other. Their brotherly relationship turned somewhat frosty since then unfortunately.

A regular 18 month stint then yes. Otherwise no.

I’d actually like Grant to return if it’s done right and if he’s back for at least a year.

I wonder how he could return and what reason would he have to stay in Walford for a longer term?

I thought about a silly comedy plot where Grant goes to prison in Portugal for something he didn’t do and manages to escape. During the escape, we see a comedy car chase where the police end up crashing. He then ends up fleeing to Walford from Portugal.

It sounds silly, although I think it’s a good way to show off the best in his character. Sadly, it can’t happen due to the lack of budget.

I wish, I can't stand Phil and Steve McFadden is a terrible actor. What does Kat see in that oldie? she must be desperate. I wish the actor would leave, I would not miss him!

Not interested in a Grant return, but I'd like to see Courtney again.

Why on earth would he return to this sinking ship on its last legs with the appalling level of script writing and storylines they dish up now.

I certainly wouldn’t expect him to return to the way the show is now. If Clenshaw makes big improvements however, I wouldn’t object to it.

Agree with you about Phil as a character now. I think he can be an excellent character when he’s written right, which certainly isn’t the case now.

Completely disagree on the bit where you said McFadden is a terrible actor. To me, he’s one of the best actors this show has had. He’s really being under challenged lately though and I worry that may cause his acting ability to decline.

While I don’t think Steve is a terrible actor I think he’s great as Phil but the fact he hasn’t found other roles when he was on his long break says he’s just great in ee which is why he’s only been in ee. At the moment though he’s been let down by the script.

I like Ross Kemp but his Grant character had sailed into the sunset and sank a looooong time ago.
