What we saw leaked last week is now official. Presenting the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette 70th Anniversary Edition which, as its name clearly suggests, celebrates a major Corvette milestone. It's being offered in both Stingray and the new Corvette Z06 spec. The Corvette has been in existence for eight generations and, as Chevy proudly points out, is the longest-running nameplate of any road car today. For seven decades, the Corvette has made high-performance affordable and has done so with utmost style and technology.

The new 70th Anniversary Edition will come available in just two exterior colors: a new White Pearl Metallic Tri-coat or Carbon Flash Metallic. Buyers can add stripes in complementing colors - Satin Gray with the White Pearl and Satin Black with the Carbon Flash. Other new exterior design elements include unique wheels with commemorative wheel center caps, though the Stingray and Z06 are getting their own separate wheel designs.

Both designs, however, share a dark finish and an Edge Red stripe. Step inside and you'll find the familiar Stingray/Z06 interior along with new touches like a two-tone Ceramic leather GT2 or Competition Sport seats, red stitching throughout the cabin, red seatbelts, and suede microfiber seat inserts and steering wheel. Other unique content includes special anniversary badging, red brake calipers, a special edition logo on the seats, steering wheel and sill plates, a rear bumper protector and trunk cover, and even custom luggage sporting more red stitching and the anniversary logo. The Stingray further gets a red engine cover.

"Passion for Corvette runs deep at Chevrolet and this anniversary is extra special because of the excitement and sales success we've achieved with the eighth generation of America's iconic sports car," said Steve Majoros, VP of Chevrolet marketing. "Even after 70 years, Corvette still makes hearts race and kids dream of the open road."

Chevy says the 70th Anniversary Edition Package will be offered once 2023 model year Corvette production gets underway later this year. It'll be limited solely to the Stingray 3LT and Z06 3LZ coupe and convertible. Package pricing has not been announced just yet.

All 2023 model year C8s - even those not equipped with this package - will get a 70th anniversary interior plaque located on the center speaker grille as well as a graphic on the lower rear window. Not surprisingly, the first production-spec Corvette Z06 will be an anniversary edition. VIN 001 will cross the Barrett-Jackson auction stage in Scottsdale, Arizona this coming Saturday. Like always, all proceeds will be donated to charity, this time to Operation Homefront, a nonprofit dedicated to helping military families in need.
