George Kleinstuber rolled an 800 series on the nose last week at Sunset Lanes with games of 299, 268 and 233 that included him throwing 28 strikes.

George Kleinstuber is a top-notch bowling talent who's enjoyed a great deal of success bowling in both St. George and Cedar City for some 15 years.

And in an electrifying outing in the SunRiver & Friends League last week at Sunset Lanes he delivered his latest masterpiece, an 800 series on games of 299, 268 and 233 which included 28 strikes.

So, along with hitting the elite 800 series mark, he missed his sixth 300 game bowled in St. George by a single pin in that 299 gem. The last of his five perfectos bowled in St. George was on September 20, 2018.

Along with his bowling prowess and scoring ability on the lanes, his skill at drilling bowling balls has also received glowing accolades.

Amazingly, he lives in Parowan, Utah but still makes the weekly trek with his wife (Karen) to Sunset Lanes for league bowling. A perennial deuce-average bowler, his current average is 213. And in the 2018-19 season, he finished with an impressive 219 average at Sunset Lanes.

A military veteran, Kleinstuber saw action in the Vietnam War and was a good friend of another military veteran and outstanding St. George bowler, the late Jim Hannon.

Meanwhile, Lew Agius delivered another sizzling performance with a stratospheric 790 series and a 279 game. Any break from the bowling deities on a single pin leave in his 279 would have given him his 14th 300 game and seventh local 800-plus series.

In other action, Jake Heaton (740-263) is definitely having a banner season, noted hiker Ron Hanson (680-243) had a big week, and Jerry Bundy (678-268) is also heating up the scoring monitors on a weekly basis.

Larry Rumple (704-256) & (702-256) enjoyed a monster week with 43 strikes and a 234 average over six games in a pair of 700 series scores.

And Patrick Webster's (667-248) first-rate outing featured only one open frame, Max Stayrook (658-226) continued his whupping up of another octogenarian, Doyle Mouser (630-226), and Brayden Chapman's season-high 631 series included 20 strikes, a clean 258 and 247.

Dave Castro (631-243) is an excellent bowler, Derek Wallace (631-222) had an impressive outing, and Bruce Arnold Jr. (597-203, 201, 193) delivered real consistency.

In single game play, Todd Thomas fired a 267, Jeremy Turlington hurled a 2690, John Vasquez tossed a 256, and Herb Ridge popped a 249.

Dave Keller logged a 238, Zac Leffler pocketed a 234, Doug Bowers bagged a 224, and Jim Mathews nabbed a 216.

Hal Evans, John Kuhns, Dennis Craft and Jack Rasberry notched a 210, 206, 202 and 201, respectively.

In women's action, Anne Brosier (599-236) will take pin action like this every single week, Ashley Thomas (593-216) almost scratched out a 600, and Susan Hill's powerful strike ball paved the way for high game accolades on a 255 gem and a 590 series.

Pat Schulze (579-216) peppered the lanes with a really good effort, Kara Kopf (564-197) continued a run of good scores and that also goes for Margie O'Neill (551-219).

And it was all high-fives and a beaming smile for Kathy Demacedo who sports a 134 average and rolled her first-ever 500 series, a 549 along with her first deuce, an eye-popping 242.

And without much fanfare, Tina Cruz (535-205) is enjoying a good season, Lisa Jones (526-208) continues delivering solid scores, and the amazing Jean Frost fired a 525 series and 214 game.

Oh, bay-bee!

Bonnie Kabey left the 3-6-7-10 mess, but as you'd expect she cleaned it up for a spare in a 181 game ... Hailey Bundy is a young bowler who is showing rapid improvement in her game and picked up the nasty 4-7-10 split ... Betty Schedin converted the 5-6 split.

Senior league scores

First, Roger Bojarski merits some ink after being away from bowling for two years dealing with a health issue. And now he's back on the lanes, regaining his strength and that's reflected in his back-to-back scores of (630-237) and (608-248). Bill Dickey 648-247; Dan O'Neill 632-246; Dave Keller 629-224; Jeff Anderson 627-231; Stacy Griswold 224; Dean Roberts 224; Dennis Craft 215; Bill Stauffer 215; Dan Sanzone 215; Paul Yssel 212; LaRue Dansie 205; John Verchota 203; Manny Hartmann 203.
