Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio Teaser Looks Really Beautiful

The Adventures of Pinocchio is an Italian tale from 1881 by Carlo Collodi. Back in 1940, Disney snatched it up and sprinkled some Disney magic on it. Now, they plan on doing a remake. I’ll admit, at first, the thought of a Pinocchio remake did not sit well with me. I didn’t like the original movie. This little wooden puppet was annoying and while I love me some Disney magic, I did not fall under the spell of this movie. Don’t hate me. Disney is going to do a live-action remake of the story, but Guillermo del Toro is also doing a project on the tale. He will be reimagining the classic tale and Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio official teaser is out now. I’ve got to admit, I like what I see so far.

The Teaser

When I found out that Guillermo del Toro was going to do a reimagining of the story, I was a little curious. But it wasn’t enough to excite me. After watching the teaser, I love the stop-motion style he went for and now I want to watch it. He sucked me in and I have no problem with that. I’m not overly fond of musicals, but there are many good ones out there. I think it might be pretty great. I love The Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline and del Toro has a lot of dark and beautiful projects that have been very successful.

Del Toro’s Pinocchio is starring Ewan McGregor as Cricket, David Bradley as Geppetto, and Gregory Mann as Pinocchio. Also starring is Finn Wolfhard, Ron Perlman, Cate Blanchett, Christoph Waltz, and Tilda Swinton. I love stop-motion animation and I’m looking forward to seeing this movie. Check it out on Netflix in December this year.
