DURHAM – Kramden Institute’s Board of Directors has selected Cyndy Yu-Robinson as its next Executive Director. Cyndy’s leadership and business management skills will be key in moving the organization to new heights of service.
Cyndy Yu-Robinson has spent the past 20 years in the Triangle, having worked at the USEPA, Lenovo, and AECOM while serving on half a dozen North Carolina non-profit boards. Most recently, she served as Executive Director of the National Association of Asian American Professionals, a leadership development organization promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
“As the co-founder and board chairman of Kramden Institute, I am thrilled to welcome Cyndy Yu-Robinson to our ranks as our new executive director. Cyndy has exceptional experience in starting, building, and managing a not-for-profit charitable organization, including five years as its Executive Director. Her experience in government and organizational management, as well as her communication skills and strong educational background, will add to Kramden’s operations and continuing growth” Mark Dibner said in the announcement.
“The pandemic showed us how essential technology and connectivity are to education, work, communication, and health,” Yu-Robinson said. “I am very excited about leveraging Kramden’s vision, our donors’ generosity, and the power of our dedicated staff and volunteers to give more tech and teach more tech. It’s a great time to be a Geek!”
As Executive Director, Cyndy will manage all day-to-day operations to help a nationally recognized team scale up to help underserved children, adults, and families cross the digital divide.
Kramden was founded in 2003 with the mission of providing technology tools and training to bridge the digital divide. With the support of thousands of volunteers, Kramden has been able to refurbish and award over 43,000 computers to deserving families. Through Kramden’s education programs, over 7,500 people have been taught everything from basic computer skills to digital art and coding.
