Driver killed in northeast Springs crash

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A driver has died from their injuries following a two-car crash in northeast Colorado Springs Monday morning.

Police say a vehicle that was southbound on Marksheffel crossed into the northbound lanes and collided with an oncoming car. One of the vehicles flipped over, trapping the driver, and the other spun off the roadway. Firefighters freed the trapped occupant by slicing the roof off the car, and both drivers were transported to area hospitals.

One of the drivers later died from their injuries. Police did not say which vehicle the driver was traveling in and have not released their name.

At last report from police, Marksheffel remains closed in both directions between Tarran Heights and Dublin.
