Death In Paradise fans notice big blunder in latest episode

Death in Paradise fans are used to examining every inch of the screen in the hopes of spotting clues to work out the murder mystery at the centre of each episode.

It does mean, though, that they sometimes catch things the team behind the BBC crime drama probably wishes they hadn't – like when those tuning in notice a blunder, which is exactly what happened during Friday night's (January 21) instalment.

In its latest outing, DCI Neville Parker (Ralf Little) and the gang were tasked with investigating the curious death of skydiver Zach Ogilvy, who appeared to have been fatally stabbed while in mid-air.

In their pursuit of the truth, Parker and Sergeant Naomi Thomas (Shantol Jackson) questioned Zach's associates, which lead to one of them, Alessa Park (Call the Midwife's Jessica Clark) making a suspicious-sounding phone call afterwards.

"Look, sooner or later it was all going to catch up with him," she said to the person on the other end. "Zach Ogilvy was a bad man. Okay, see you soon."

However, some eagle-eyed viewers couldn't fully pay attention to what Alessa was saying as they were too distracted by the fact that she was holding her mobile the wrong way up...

"It's really bothering me that she was using her mobile phone upside down," one fan wrote on Twitter in response, while another tweeted: "Why is she using her phone upside down?"

Later on, others flagged a second slip-up, claiming that the plane Zach jumped out was confirmed to have taken flight at 8:15am, before its take-off time randomly changed to 10:15am.

"Tut tut," one disgruntled fan said on social media, pointing out the mistake.

Death in Paradise airs on Fridays at 9pm on BBC One.
