Alabama already has one of the nation’s top-ranked recruiting classes for 2022. As things sit, the Crimson Tide check-in at No. 2 behind Texas A&M, but the 24-man group is still an impressive collection of talent.

In fact, Alabama saw five of its signees land a five-star rating in the final On3 2022 On300 rankings, which were released early on Monday morning. Of those, three were on offense and two were on defense. Here’s a list of every five-star the Crimson Tide landed:

Alabama also saw 10 more of its signees rank in the top-100 prospects, bringing the total to 15. Those players include:

Seeing 15 of the 23 signees (almost two-thirds of the class) rank amongst the top-100 prospects is spectacular. The group is a little offense heavy with 10 of those 15 being on the offensive side of the football, but that shouldn’t be a surprise.

Alabama is returning nine of the 11 guys who started on defense in the national title game against Georgia. Plus, they’re adding All-American cornerback Eli Ricks from LSU. In other words, there’s a lot less certainty on offense than defense right now.

Two rankings that might surprise fans are Niblack as a five-star prospect and Jihaad Campbell as the No. 3 overall player. When you look deeper though, neither decision should come as a shock. Both guys are worthy of their ranking.

Niblack is a dynamic move tight end option with size (6-foot-4, 220 pounds), speed and overall athleticism. Throughout his high school career, the former Lakewood (Fla.) standout continuously showed the ability to win at the catch point and battle for contested balls in the air. He’s continued to get better and better but has yet to reach his ceiling.

Campbell is an ultra-athletic, versatile defender who can play out on the edge or as an off-ball linebacker. His natural length at 6-foot-4 blends well with his explosive first-step to make him a dangerous pass rusher, but he can also play in space. His versatility reminds many of former Alabama linebackers Rashaan Evans and Dylan Moses.
