Closed Worcester brewery requests licenses for Cambridge Street location

3cross Fermentation Cooperative, Inc, a closed Worcester brewery and taproom, has applied for restaurant, liquor, and entertainment licenses at a new location on Cambridge Street, according to the Worcester License Commission Meeting Agenda for Thursday’s meeting.
3cross Fermentation Cooperative was one of the first breweries to open in Worcester, setting up shop on Knowlton Avenue. The location had plumbing problems, forcing the business to shut down for about 10 months in 2018. During that closure, founder Dave Howland said on Facebook he was looking for a new space, but ended up staying put.
According to its website now, the co-op is on indefinite hiatus, with the company’s last Facebook post in August.
Its application for Thursday’s license commission meeting lists the cooperative under the trade name Wooden Bar to be located at 26 Cambridge Street.
The address is the site of a 21,800-square-foot industrial loft, according to the Worcester assessors’ database. The building is one of two locations of Accra Supermarket, an African market with its other location on Blackstone River Road in Worcester.
The Cambridge Street property was bought by Ellen Owusaa Coffie for $625,000 in December. Coffee is the manager of Ellgof LLC, which is registered to Accra’s Blackstone River Road address.
Along with its alcohol and victualer license requests, 3cross Fermentation requested an entertainment license for recorded music, live music, and moving picture shows.
