When the first season of "The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip" aired on Peacock in November 2021, fans were immediately drawn in for the ride. However, since the streaming service aired the episodes three-at-a-time, the season was already over by early December — leaving many wondering how soon Season 2 would arrive.
Filming for Season 2 ended in September of 2021, according to the Nilsen Report, which projects the show to officially air sometime in early 2022, likely within the coming months (or even weeks). Given the timeline, Bravo already knew the series would be renewed, even before the show started, which means they are filming new episodes a lot faster than many fans might expect.
The "ultimate girls trip" aspect of the show also allows them to both expand by using a familiar aspect of most cities' seasons — just on a larger scale — and take up less time filming, because vacations don't last quite as long as a full-fledged season.
Who's in the cast for The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip Season 2?
When Season 2 of "The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip" does air in 2022, fans can expect to see an entirely new all-star cast: including ones from New York, Beverly Hills, Orange County, and Atlanta. Unlike the first season, which featured New Jersey's Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga, no cast members from that city will appear this time around.
Instead, fans can expect to see Dorinda Medley, Jill Zarin, Phaedra Parks, Eva Marcille, Tamra Judge, Vicki Gunvalson, Brandi Glanville, and Taylor Armstrong taking an entire trip together.
Andy Cohen also shared just how chaotic the cast crossover might get, according to Bravo's "Daily Dish" podcast. "Oh, wow. Well, my dream cast crossover is also the twisted fantasy that is Season 2 of 'Ultimate Girls Trip,' to be honest with you. Phaedra, Vicki, Brandi Glanville, Dorinda, I mean, are all at the Berkshires, so this is a group of wildly different people. It may be too twisted for words, we'll see, but that was really exciting for me," he said.
What is the plot for The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip Season 2?
In the first season of "The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip," many of the standard cast were up to their typical ways, including Ramona Singer from "RHONY" feuding, then apologizing, to girls from the other major cities. However, it seems like the drama from the vacation might be followed home as well.
"It doesn't fly when you keep doing the same thing over and over again. That's the definition of craziness, right? Those girls [on 'RHUGT'] get to go home. I get to go back to New York with Ramona. We work together on the same show. She's on my cast. They don't have to deal with her when they get home," Luann de Lesseps told Page Six.
Although Season 2 features an entirely new cast, it appears from early interview teasers that the cast members will be just as, if not more, chaotic. "I called my boyfriend and I said, 'You know, I could do this again. I could do this forever, I'm having the best time.' But day four, crying, hysterical, get me out of there," Jill Zarin told WFLA in November 2021. Compared to the tropical beach getaway, it will also be set on Dorinda Medley's Massachusetts manor.
